In accordance with International Cooperative Principles #3, Member Economic Participation, CEANYC members are encouraged to make a suggested annual contribution of $120-5000, depending on their capacity, ideally before July 1st of each year.
Education & Training: Discounts and exclusive access to classes, workshops, lectures, speaker presentations, internships, and our Cooperative Leadership Institute.
Resource Hub: Connect to others in the cooperative and solidarity economy through our newsletter, online and print directory, and gatherings. Our responsive staff helps groups and individuals navigate the field to find technical assistance, funding, and partners. We also conduct research, such as a co-op census, to provide much-needed information about the field to supporters.
Public Relations and Visibility: Display your membership in CEANYC and NYC’s cooperative economy with a website badge and a storefront sticker. Spread the word about your work through our social media, newsletter, and strategic partnerships.
Public Policy: Build political power together as a voice for all co-ops and solidarity economy organizations. We promote legislative and administrative initiatives to support cooperative businesses and solidarity economy development, including supporting co-op sectors with existing campaigns.
Financial Support: Need scholarships for conferences and workshops? Emergency assistance? Fundraising matches? Through our regranting program, we are able to offer our membership gifts ranging from $500-$5000.
Marketing & Outreach: Grow your co-op with umbrella marketing initiatives and product promotion or recruit new members and staff using our jobs board and network.
Professional Networking: Build strong relationships and share best practices among your peers as staff, members, board leaders, and neighbors.
The Greater Cooperative Movement: CEANYC has strong relationships with international, national, and other regional cooperative networks that help to grow the local cooperative movement and the broader solidarity economy. CEANYC members have access to all the benefits of membership of the National Cooperative Business Association.
Democratic Participation: Members control our organization by voting and nominating members to serve on the CEANYC board, participating in working groups, and shaping programs through surveys and other feedback mechanisms.
